DO YOU WANT TO MAKE EASTER MEANINGFUL FOR THE KIDS DO YOU WANT TO MAKE EASTER MEANINGFUL FOR THE KIDS IN YOUR LIFE?⁣
.⁣
Sometimes Easter activities seem to distract us from the meaning of the season.⁣
.⁣
But they are so fun!!!⁣
.⁣
So, I created this devotional resource to use with the kids in my life—⁣
.⁣
to connect the Gospel with dying eggs, searching for baskets, and going on an egg hunt.⁣
.⁣
And you can grab a copy at the link in my bio to use (and adjust) as you see fit.⁣
.⁣
Join me in having fun!—and teaching the Gospel to the kids in our lives.⁣

Our time in Cincinnati was a blast. . We ate from Our time in Cincinnati was a blast.
.
We ate from diverse local businesses: Main lobster rolls, fried chicken with brown sugar bacon (amazing), and even enjoyed a Columbian arepa for lunch on our way out.
.
The local free trolly let us get a feel for the city center---from the 17th century market (Finley market) to the riverside park.
.
And we rented electric bikes to take in the riverside views.
.
Overall, after 8 months of very small breaks from the kids, we enjoyed our time reconnecting and dreaming about the future of our family.
.
I've got some crazy ideas. Let's see if any of them don't flop. Ha!
.
But regardless, my dream is to inspire you---in creative ways---to know God's word, walk with God, and live with purpose.
.
I'm excited for this next season to focus on my family and content creation.
.
We still need to get out of boxes (we moved states 8 months ago).
.
Time to read to finish my course work!
.
4 weeks until I finish my master's degree!

God's power. His love. . We walked through trees, God's power. His love.
.
We walked through trees, jumped over streams, and breathed in vistas of grand craftsmanship.
.
And I remember: God is the God of wonder and order.
.
I cannot fathom the universe of a tree leaf; opening, closing, falling, regrowing.
.
I cannot order the water to carve the cliff or hold back the rush.
.
But God can. God does. All of this is His.
.
So I once again relent my need of control and simply say: How Great Thou Art.

Many years we rush through Easter weekend without Many years we rush through Easter weekend without pausing to walk through the story of Good Friday. ⁣
.⁣
That is why I created the Good Friday Guide.⁣
.⁣
We utilize tangible elements of a Passover meal, walk through marking our door with red, and imagine what it might look like if the spirit of death did not pass over our house—or the houses of our loved ones.⁣
.⁣
Even a few moments of Good Friday remembrance can draw our imaginations forward to the faithfulness of God in history—and in our own lives.⁣
.⁣
See LINK IN BIO to download your guide today.
Sometimes we forget the faithfulness of God as we Sometimes we forget the faithfulness of God as we face a difficulty. ⁣
.⁣
When we stare at mountains impossible to move, it’s time to remember how God has already led us through. ⁣
.⁣
Here is one practice to help you face your hard circumstances:⁣
.⁣
1. REMEMBER YOUR STORY.⁣
.⁣
Some of my favorite Psalms celebrate the story of the Israelites. ⁣
.⁣
They recount God’s faithfulness in their past. ⁣
.⁣
You also have a story. Whether we've followed Jesus for five minutes or fifty years, we can all trace his hand in our lives when we pause and remember.⁣
.⁣
Sometimes, turning back helps us to move forward. ⁣
.⁣
We can trace God’s faithfulness, which give us courage to trust him—even in the mess of our lives.⁣
.⁣
DO: Read Psalm 105.⁣
.⁣
QUESTION: What would be included if you wrote a Psalm of Remembrance? How have you seen the faithfulness of God in your past?⁣
.⁣

Imperfection. . Today I strived for imperfection. Imperfection.
.
Today I strived for imperfection.
.
We checked off the boxes with e-learning.
.
We spent time on Legos, stop motion, and our youngest put on a show.
.
And we made imperfect cookies.
.
The old me, the one who had to do everything right, would have brought out a stack of books and made them read.
.
I would have put icing in piping bags and felt the pressure to make stylized Instagram photos.
.
But the thing is, the more I'm learning about God's grace, the more I'm learning to live in it.
.
And the more I walk in freedom, a lot of stuff doesn't matter.
.
And the joy in my home, and the peace in my heart, are all the better for it.
.
Do you ever try to make things perfect?
.
Come on, I know you do.
.
Just let things be regular. Let's embrace regular with lots of love.
.
Because then it becomes more beautiful than perfection.
.
Grace over picture perfect.
.

There was that time we knew God was calling Jason There was that time we knew God was calling Jason to pastoral ministry. And we left everything I ever knew to follow that vision.
.
We didn't know the valleys we'd have to endure .
.
The tragedy. The poverty. The loneliness.
.
There was that time when we questioned the road and wondered if we should travel another.
.
Maybe this dream was a mistake.
.
But the Spirit of God would not let us veer. The vision was clear. The obedience costly.
.
And so we kept going.
.
And every time I watch my husband do what he's been called to do, I smile.
.
.
if you are in that space of wondering if you can keep pace, just keep on taking one step. God will see you through or deliver you.
.
"Jesus said to them, `Come away with me. Let us go "Jesus said to them, `Come away with me. Let us go alone to a quiet place and rest for a while.' Many people were coming and going. They could not even eat. So they went away in a boat to a lonely place by themselves." Mark 6:31-32
.
I'm a crowd girl. I love the energy of the multitude—even digital ones like social media. I flutter around like a butterfly in a field of milkweed.
.
But sometimes, it's good to come away with Jesus and my closest loved ones.
.
I am going to take a social media break for at least a week. It will be hard, but good.
.
I will not be checking my social media messages or anything. But if you have my cell, you are welcome to text or call.
.
Do you ever need space to refocus? Be intentional? Listen?
.
Take. It. ❤️
